A fresh start...
I'm visiting Cassis, France for 3 months this fall where I'm doing research and starting writing the next book. It's been wonderful to have time and space to think about the next project. In some ways, it continues the story that Keep Watching the Skies ends with. In the early 1970s, when Operation Moonwatch was closing down, there was increased skepticism about the role of technology and science in the lives of American citizens. My next book is going to pick up the story here and focus on visions of America's technological future in the 1970s and 1980s...space exploration will figure prominently.

Talk & Book Signing
I just returned from Washington, DC where I gave a talk at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center about Moonwatch and the role of citizen-scientists.
I also had a book signing at the National Air and Space Museum. Since, as a kid, I loved NASM, this was a real treat. I was set up in the main gallery, right underneath Sputnik and Explorer. Many people bought copies and, more importantly, I got to interact with a whole bunch of people there to visit the museum.
